love this blog, love this post! I’m not married yet.. but still.

Get her to the GREEK

22 Oct

So.. as some of you / MOST of you know (sorry – when I found out – had to tell the world), I am going to be serving in the Greece Athens mission!! Which means I’ll be going to serve in Greece & Cyprus for 18 months. For those of you who don’t know what a mission is – http://mormon.org/values/missionary-work – that’ll explain it better that I would.

So I am super duper excited (also scared, have you seen the Greek language). I have been browsing through tons and tons of sister missionary blogs and I’ve found hope for cute clothing (and I have also started to collect some bits). For those of you that haven’t seen, there was a blog post previously about Sister Missionary Fashion.

Anyway so there are two main reasons I reallllly wanted to write this post. 1. I wanna know if any of YOU are going on missons? And 2. Would you be interested in seeing my cute outfits and having posts from me with my progress if I got my sister to post for me while I am away? 🙂 just short things once a week or what not. LEMME KNOW. Comment. Email. Write on Fb. Tweet – however!!!

When I am on my mission please feel free to email and write me – send me packages, love notes – you know the drill 😉 I’ll post the deets nearer the time. I have months still! I report to the MTC Feb 18th!

But anyway, more about Greece, so the mission is a fairly new mission, the first missionaries went in 1986. The members are few out there but I am more than excited to go and meet and love the people. I have a few friends serving out there already which is really nice, and my friend Demi is reporting the same day as me to the Greece mission! We will fingers crossed fly together! Eek! I am so glad I have someone to go with, it just makes me so much more calm. What an adventure heyyy!

In closing, I pledge to be fashionable as a sister missionary to my best ability.

Good night xox

The Matt Walsh Blog

It’s happened twice in a week, and they were both women. Anyone ought to have more class than this, but women — especially women — should damn well know better.

Last week, I was at the pharmacy and a friendly lady approached me.

“Matt! How are those little ones doing?”

“Great! They’re doing very well, thanks for asking.”

“Good to hear. How ’bout your wife? Is she back at work yet?”

“Well she’s working hard at home, taking care of the kids. But she’s not going back into the workforce, if that’s what you mean.”

“Oh fun! That must be nice!”

“Fun? It’s a lot of hard work. Rewarding, yes. Fun? Not always.”

This one wasn’t in-your-face. It was only quietly presumptuous and subversively condescending.

The next incident occurred today at the coffee shop. It started in similar fashion; a friendly exchange about how things are coming along with the…
